Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12  

When your thoughts wander to the "poor me" experiences of the past... or the "what if" fears of the future... return to the present moment... and relax. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. ~ Psalm 4:8  

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. ~ 2 Peter 3:9 *Repent means to be remorseful and hopefully, to want to change and do better.  

I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Psalm 85:8  

Develop friendships with those who allow you to be yourself.    

Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior. This kind of talk spreads like cancer. 1 Timothy 2:15-16  

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. Psalm 33:1,4-6
