Gratitude and Forgiveness Prayer

GRATITUDE AND FORGIVENESS PRAYER

Sit quietly, in nature if possible. Begin to breathe in deeply, a long, slow breath. Hold the breath a few moments, then slowly release the breath fully. Continue this for a few rounds until you feel relaxed.

First, focus on the universe, expressing love and gratitude to the Creator of all. Spend several breaths building that connection.

Then, visualize someone you are having difficulties with or someone you would like to have a deeper relationship with. On the inbreath, focus on something positive about the person. On the outbreath, send thoughts of love and gratitude to the person. Repeat for as long as you desire. The goal is not to change the person in any way, just to express love and gratitude.

For people you are having great difficulty with, it may take several attempts to get break through any barriers. Ask the Creator to help you to release any blockages you have created with this person. Press forward and continue with this practice for as long as it takes until you can begin to release any anger or bitterness. Strive to forgive them. Then work towards freely sending love to them. Be grateful for each breakthrough. You have now increased your ability to love others, without conditions.
