LOVE YOUR SELF

Do you truly love your Self? We are all from the same Source. Many ancient teachings make the statement that we are all One, that we are brothers and sisters and indeed, this is true. Know it in your heart, look into each other’s eyes and see this Truth. Until we know in our hearts that we are the same, there will be separation, which has been the downfall of every civilization.

When humans create labels of separateness, all hell breaks loose. Heaven on Earth can be a reality when everyone consciously chooses to make it so. There is one underlying theme that can make this a reality; love thy neighbor as thyself. The problem is that many have not learned to love themselves. How can anyone expect to love their neighbor if he cannot love himself first? This is an impossible reality.

Loving thyself begins within. Many spend an exorbitant amount of time and energy on their outer self when it comes to grooming and appearances. Far fewer take time to go within and do the necessary grooming that allows them to shine their inner light. This is best done in deep prayer and meditation; however, you can also reflect inwardly during any moment of the day. This can only be done if your mind is not cluttered with fear or busy-ness that keeps you distracted from what is essential. Make a commitment to spend time working on your inner self. Learn to connect with your Creator, your Inner Spirit Higher for guidance. Ask for your heart to be expanded. Be mindful of when you are judging others or setting your expectations onto others. These are acts of conditional love. Turn away from them.

Have the courage to look at the hurts and pains you have accumulated over time in order to start healing them. Create new beliefs to open doors to deeper, unconditional love of self and others. Forgive your trespassers and yourself. Choose to love all unconditionally. Go within and clean out the garbage that stinks and is heavy-laden.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  (Romans 12:2)
