When I first began to start each day expressing gratitude, it was often hard to come up with three things. I began to realize how I spent so much time focused on the negative.
I began to notice that the days that I began by focusing on gratitude put me into a good mood.
I decided to put “post it” notes in various places to remind me to look for the blessings in my life. I eventually expanded that to feeling gratitude more. That further expanded into telling others I was grateful for things I noticed them doing.
Their smiles in return were genuine. I began to communicate deeper with others. I also noticed “a pay it forward” experience was evolving. Others who tended to be grumpy began to express gratitude back to me and others. The ripple effect.
What a great way to lessen and dissolve anxiety and depression when we let things flow and focus on the good that ebbs and flows in our lives!
I hope this message encourages you to do the same.
Be blessed! Theresa
It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.
