God hears

In my distress I called to the Lord;
    I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
    my cry came before him, into his ears.

Psalm 18:6

In this psalm, David is singing praises to God for saving him from his enemies.
This is a reminder that there is a God who hears our requests.

Yet, do we appeal to God only when we have material needs or petitions for others?
When times are smooth, are we singing praises of gratitude for our blessings?

Are we building the relationship, asking to be shown God’s will for us each step of the way?
Are we asking God to help us know Him so that we can truly understand his love and desire for us?

When times are tough, do we still praise God?
Do we sincerely ask to know His will for us?

When blessings and insights are received do we express our gratitude?
Can you imagine the changes in the world if all of us were doing these things and making choices from love… love of God… love of others… love of self?

Consider the Garden of Eden… before humans began to put themselves before God.
That’s what we could create in the world. It’s not going to happen worldwide, but one can create more of a utopian world within their home and the circle of people they surround themselves with.

Then we would have more beacons of love expanding out to others.
Will you be one of those beacons?
