When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?

I read that last sentence “What can mere mortals due to me?”
A flood of memories reminds me that they can do plenty…
good, bad and ugaleeeeee…
Then I am reminded of Matthew 10:28 and gain comfort.
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Yet, it too has stipulations that one would be wise to pay attention to.
