Greetings Beloved,

As we enter into a new season, this is a wonderful time to go within and review what you have experienced this past season. Were there some unmet goals that are still of importance to you? Were there some blessings that have filled your heart with gratitude? How are you doing with your thoughts? Are you monitoring them, so that you can fine-tune “who” you want to be? What about the words that you utter? Overall, are they pleasing to you? Are they kind when spoken to and about others? What about your actions? Are there some behaviors that you are ready to let go of? Are there actions you took to lead you where you choose to go?

This week is a good time to take stock of where you have been and to begin to set the intentions for how you want to act and react during this new season. Many behaviors are addictive in nature. To release any addiction, there must first be the true desire to do so. Yet, this brings in a double standard, for it is “desires” that will keep you entangled in the wheel of reincarnation.

Thus, perhaps in order to change one’s behavior, it is more fitting to say that when “enough is enough,” that is the telltale sign that it is time, usually way past time, to take action. It is important to get to the root cause of one’s addiction in order to release not only the nagging desire, but to also take action to make a choice that will stick.

Take time to go within and ask for assistance is seeing the root reason why you chose this addiction in the first place.

Then ask to be shown any limiting beliefs surrounding this behavior. This will lead you to see the truth and the truth will set you free. Acknowledge that this has been a weakness, without adding any blame, shame, guilt or other fruitless thoughts into the mix.

Begin to take time each day, visualizing your life without this specific behavior. Only focus on one behavior at a time. Let us use smoking cigarettes as an example. Using all of your senses along with a positive emotion, in your mind’s eye, visualize your day without smoking. With each visualization, add a feeling of gratitude.

For instance, if it is your habit to have a few puffs on your cigarette soon after you awaken, focus the visualization on a new and more pleasant behavior. Perhaps instead of reaching for a cigarette, you choose to drink a glass of water instead, to help hydrate and purify your body. See yourself holding the glass. Feel the coolness of the water as you ingest it. Hear the sound of you pouring the water into the glass and as you sip it.

Taste the refreshing taste as it enters your mouth, alleviating any dryness, bad taste and hunger. With each sip, feel the same calmness you felt as you puffed on those cancer sticks. Feel how much better you feel now that your body is hydrated. Give blessings to yourself for treating your body with honor. Be grateful for the ease in which you can have water, for many have to walk great distances to carry their water. Notice in your mind’s eye how the taste and smell of water, food and your surroundings is enhanced.

Do a similar visualization for each of the times that you normally would smoke a cigarette.

Your mind does not know the difference between fantasy and reality.

Thus, when your visualizations are strong and sense-oriented, the practice will more readily become your reality. Another important factor is to not hold onto thoughts that you are “giving up” something. Instead, keep the focus on the positive aspects that are happening to you as a result of your new chosen behaviors.

It will also be good to notice the reason you smoke in the first place. For many, it is used as a way to relieve anxiety. Thus, choose another behavior that is more suited to what you want to create. In every situation, we would suggest using meditation as a tool to insert instead of the unwanted behavior. For meditation will bring you inner peace. With that inner peace, you will gain clarity. With clarity, you will be better able to find and resolve the root cause of the undesirable behavior.

For many, meditation is difficult because one’s mind has been untrained and is more like a train barreling down the mountain with faulty brakes. One easy way to begin to train your mind is to simply focus on your breathing. Notice the breath as it goes in and out of your nose or mouth. When your thoughts wander, simply refocus on the breath. Start by doing this around five minutes in the morning and before you retire at night. Anytime throughout the day when you feel stressed, take several deep, slow breaths in and out until you feel calm. You can do this while continuing with whatever activity is taking place. But being able to do so with your eyes closed and in a quiet location, such as a bathroom, may be more effective, especially in the beginning.

As you start to slow down your runaway train of thoughts, add more time to the meditations. Then you can add other factors such as tuning in for Guidance. This breathing exercise is also a great way to prepare yourself for the visualization work. The more you can quiet your mind and tune into your Higher Self, God and your Team of spirit helpers, the more clarity you will have throughout your day. It will be much easier to make decisions that are in your best interest. You will also feel calmer and begin to be less perturbed by the thoughts, words and actions of others. Aren’t all of those goals worth aiming for?

Begin today and watch as your dreams manifest.
