Sacred Space

Prayer and meditation are an important part of each day. Without connecting to the God who created you on a regular basis, it is easy to fall into the tricks of the demons. If you have room in your home, set aside a specific area that is used only or mainly for prayer. The more you use this area for prayer, the more it will become energized.

Choose a place where no one will interrupt you. If you can, set aside a specific time for daily prayers. Have everything you need in the space, so that all you have to do is enter. Be sure it is not cluttered because that can create anxiety. Keep it clean and simple.

When you feel off balance, you will have a place where you can go to get recentered. The area can be an entire room, a corner of a room, even inside a closet. This is your place to go to commune with God.

Of course, one will do well to be “in tune” all the time with God. While you are away from home, in your mind you can imagine being in your sacred spot. Although in reality, you may be driving in traffic or hiding out in the restroom at work.

Do you have a dedicated sacred space? If so, tell us about it in the comments!

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. ~ Matthew 6:6-7
